This video loosely explains my childhood experiences with Christmas while I lived in Holland. It’s pretty much completely in Dutch, so just follow the pictures; you should be able to get a good idea of what is happening. With Christmas around the corner I become nostalgic for the days where I had to avoid being kidnapped by an army of demon-like elves that painted their faces black with chimney ash. After reflecting on this video I am amazed I don’t suffer from any post traumatic stress disorder. More surprising is that I even choose to acknowledge Christmas. Sure parents use stories like this to scare their children all the time. But not on Christmas. A piece of coal is hardly in the same twisted ballpark as having your possessions stolen or quite possibly kidnapped to join the Zwarte Peit cult. The story itself is amazing and should be developed as an Indy horror film, if it already hasn’t been done.
