Autonomous Production of Images based on Distributed and Intelligent Sensing

This robotic imaging system is being toted as the system that will replace humans as camera operators at sporting events. Pretty unsettling. Using 3d image tracking APIDIS can detect movement and switch to the best possible angle to cover it.

After watching some of the sample footage I was impressed by its potential but I don’t think it comes close to what humans have already done in terms of live coverage. Given the right amount of time and development I am sure a system like this will change the way we watch live events.
