Don’t mess with Grandma…
GRANDMA!
Up until just recently I have always considered grandma a symbol of kindess and longevity. I never really knew my grandparents so I just replaced thier image with characters I have seen in movies. It seems to work with all of the voids in my life.
A friend of mine recently explained that I was looking at it the wrong way. He uses the term, “grandma” as a way to point out weakness and absent mindedness in people. There will be times when he is getting into a heated argument and instead of reaching for a classic term like, “asshole” or “douchebag,” he’ll say grandma and the anger will just evaporate. It catches people off guard.
Everyone has a grandma. Some have great relationships with thier parent’s birth-givers. If you can, give you grandmother a hug. Help her dye her blue hair. Listen to her stories. Let her know that fatty arbuckle has been dead for a long time and that one night he took you to the ball shouldnt be what you base your twilight years around. I love you Nana.
